Come in, take a seat.

Only just stumbled across Poppycockney?

This page will tell you what you've been missing and a little bit more about our lovely characters. Although frankly we're a bit shocked that you've only just decided to come and say hello.

Got any questions? Just leave us a message and when we get in from the pub you might just get a drunken response.

Welcome to my little online world. This is where I scribble about what's going on in London in the 'real world'. It's my life away from my 9-5. After all, no one really wants to be at work, do they? Oh, right. Except for you. Fine. Then stop reading this and go and do something.

You want to know more about me? My, you are nosy.

You'll often find me hanging out in antique shops. Buying stuff that I really don't need. All of my second-hand books and vintage jewellery are currently cluttering up Ben's house. Who's Ben? He's my best friend. He lives in Greenwich. I was only meant to stay for a couple of weeks. That was over a year ago and I still haven't left. He doesn't mind though. I keen him stocked in gin and wine.

Today I'm bored. Bored and easily distracted. Even by you. So I've set up this site to give me something to do. I'm going to spend my time trying to make my life a little more interesting. Which means is that I'll probably get into trouble. And that will be lots of fun.

If you want to know any more, you'll just have to come back soon, won't you?

dreamstime_2679778___3340b02c4fbd42c29d96bf8b3e7c6279(800x640)__160__(@150x0).jpgHi there! Well, I guess you could call this my little corner of the world that is Katie. I arrived in London a picture of innocence 7 years ago hoping to encounter a city full of excitement, adventure and maybe the odd charming English gent.....7 years later, I have indeed had excitement and adventures but perhaps not in the way I intended (and minus the gent). I'm probably not as innocent either.

A degree in Law, a stint in the events industry, a TV extra...I've done it all and still haven't managed to find my perfect career or even bagged myself that English gent...but isn't that all part of the adventure? Whilst I'm not (momentarily) working as a PA, I adore everything London has to offer - cafes, pubs, theatre, Bermondsey Street, quirky people.... Want to know about the real London and more importantly a taste of the lives of real people in London from a real girl who gets about a bit (in the logistical sense of course)? Look no further. Welcome to my world!

If I hate you or have slept with you it might be an idea for you to go no further. Names will not be changed to protect the guilty, or the innocent..

In my spare time (of which their seems to precious little!) I'll rattle away on here as I listen to pretentious French pop from the sixties and daydream about meeting a dapper young dandy with the looks of Patrick Wolf and a jammy voice like Matt Berry or Stephen Fry. Meanwhile, my kitten, Nico, will be attempting to chew my toes off and clawing ladders in all of my tights.

The things that make me tick are summer nights of drinking too many strawberry daiquiris with Charlotte, my best friend and housemate. The waking up with diamonds of smashed glass all over the carpet and furry rotten teeth is a drawback I can tolerate only as long as it doesn't fall on a Monday. Being a romantic ghoul and visiting celebrity graves is another occasional pastime (the best one yet has to be Oscar Wilde's in Paris, where fat drag queens loitered, sharing their cheap warm wine and filthy stories with anyone brave enough to come close). Raspberry-coloured seamed stockings (as long as the cat doesn't come anywhere near them), boring people senseless with the tale behind the tattoo on my ribcage, and fantasising about managing to snag Alan Cumming for panto at the theatre I work for are a few other things which please me.

My name is Jo and I was born and raised in San Francisco. I was named after my late Aunt Josephine who died in a freak accident in the 60s. Some say she stampeded by a group of angry hippies after poetry reading went awry; others claim it was simply a case of a "bad trip gone wrong". Perhaps we'll never know.

Two years ago, I dropped my budding journalism career and upped and moved to London after meeting my British *soul mate* on Craigslist. It was all going so well until about 2 days after I arrived, when he asked me to perform a rather disturbing sex act involving a tub of Marmite and a plate of mash. (As they say, you either love it or hate it). So I repacked my bags and ran like the wind.

I'm currently stuck renting out a room from a rather interesting group of people who all work in IT. I'm trying desperately to restart my journalism career but for now, I'm stuck making lattes in Starbucks.
